چکیده

Highly nonlinear optical phenomena can provide access to properties of electronic systems which are otherwise difficult through conventional linear spectroscopies. In particular, high-harmonic generation (HHG) in crystalline solids is strikingly different from that atomic gases, and it enables us such as the band structure, Berry curvature, valence electron density. Here, we show polarization-resolved HHG measurements with band-gap resonant excitation be used probe transition dipole moment (TDM) texture momentum space two-dimensional semiconductors. TDM directly related internal structure system governs properties. We study black phosphorus, offers a simple two-band system. observed unique crystal-orientation dependence yields polarizations. Resonant edge reconstruct interatomic bonding structure. Our results demonstrate potential spectroscopy for probing wave functions solids.

High-order harmonic generation in atomic hydrogen at 248 nm: Dipole-moment versus acceleration spectrum.

%'e present a study of the high-order harmonic-generation (HG) spectra of atomic hydrogen at 248 nm based on the Fourier transform of the expectation values of the induced dipole moment and acceleration. The calculations were performed by extending a fast-Fourier-transformation split-operator technique (in spherical coordinates) to the solution of the time-dependent wave functions in intense la...

Comparative Visualization of Two-Dimensional Flow Data Using Moment Invariants

The analysis of time-dependent data is often guided by the question of how dominant structures develop over time. It is important to understand how patterns or structures identified for one time step evolve over time, by changing or moving in the domain. To gain insight into such evolving structural change it is crucial to effectively compare different time steps. This paper proposes a comparis...

Atomic-like high-harmonic generation from two-dimensional materials

The generation of high-order harmonics from atomic and molecular gases enables the production of high-energy photons and ultrashort isolated pulses. Obtaining efficiently similar photon energy from solid-state systems could lead, for instance, to more compact extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray sources. We demonstrate from ab initio simulations that it is possible to generate high-order harmonic...

Tunable orbital angular momentum in high-harmonic generation

Optical vortices are currently one of the most intensively studied topics in optics. These light beams, which carry orbital angular momentum (OAM), have been successfully utilized in the visible and infrared in a wide variety of applications. Moving to shorter wavelengths may open up completely new research directions in the areas of optical physics and material characterization. Here, we repor...
